Oregon Vs UCLA Recap

ULCA was 1-3 against the Ducks since 2017 and they were looking to close the gap. However, the Ducks came out on top with a 45-30 win, leaving UCLA with a record of 1-4 against Oregon.
UCLA was expected to go into this game with good offense. Looking at their game from the week before they faced off against the Ducks, the Bruins rose to defeat Utah’s defense. This was a big victory for them as they finished 42-32.
Looking at Oregon’s performance before their game against UCLA, they finished with 224 more yards than the Arizona Wildcats. They had the win secured from the third quarter once they had a 33 point advantage with a score of 49-16.
Their defense against Arizona was also a contributing factor of their game. They racked up three fumbles and one interception against the Wildcats.
The week six wins by both teams meant they were coming into the matchup against each other strong. UCLA’s win made them 6-0 while Oregon’s win made them 5-1. Both teams had high scoring games against their opponents up until week six. Week seven was when these two teams went head to head.
Bo Nix was the star player of the game and helped Oregon secure the win over UCLA. He threw 283 yards and five touchdowns to give UCLA their first loss of the season. He also completed 21 of 28 passes during the game.
To compare the Bruins and the Ducks in their yard game, UCLA was allowed only 186 rushing yards by Oregon. This means that Oregon slowed their game as UCLA has an average of 211.5 yards per game. The Ducks on the other hand, almost had a hundred more yards than UCLA as they racked in 262 rushing yards.
The loss for UCLA does not just mean that they loose their undefeated record of 6-0, it means a number of things.
For UCLA, the loss put an end to their nine consecutive wins. It also added to their losses in Eugene which have been constant since 2004.
For Oregon, the game added to their winning streak in Eugene, making their win streak at the stadium 23. The win allowed them to secure the third best win streak in the nation.
After the league faceoff, Oregon is left as the only undefeated team in the Pac-12 division.
