Lawrence, Kansas (PSF) - The biggest college basketball game of the week was the number five ranked Kansas Jayhawks hosting the number nine ranked Baylor Bears. The previous two National Champions, Kansas in 2022 and Baylor in 2021, are both strong candidates to win another National Title this season.
Baylor started impressively coming into Allen Fieldhouse and were in control of the game going into halftime with a score of 45-32. But out of the break, it was a whole different game as the Jayhawks outscored the Bears 55-26 to win the game 87-71.

Everything was clicking for Kansas in the second half, and they were playing arguably the best they have all season. Junior guard Dajuan Harris Jr. scored all of his 14 points in the second half, while Jalen Wilson finished as the Jayhawks’ leading scorer with 21 points along with 13 rebounds. KJ Adams Jr. scored 17 and freshman Gradey Dick had 16.

For Baylor, senior guard Adam Flagler finished with 22 points and seven assists. Freshman Keyonte George had 20 points, and LJ Cryer added 15. Despite the great performance in the first half, the Bears could not find consistent scoring in the second half and struggled to slow down a Kansas team feeding off of momentum and their home crowd after an early run to open the half.

Baylor had defeated Kansas at home on January 23rd by six points with a final score of 75-69. Kansas got their revenge at home and are now tied atop the Big 12 Conference at 10-4 with the Texas Longhorns. Baylor at 9-5 in conference play dropped to third place following the loss.

Each team has four games remaining in the regular season. Every game will be important in determining the regular season champions along with the seeding for the Big 12 Tournament. Both Kansas and Baylor are dangerous teams that opponents won’t want to see in March, but will either have enough to pull off another title run?
