College Football Rankings

With Georgia’s 41-17 win over Tennessee last week, the Bulldogs improve to 10-0 and prove why they are number 1 in the land. Georgia is pretty much locked in for the playoffs, and with Alabama ranked 2nd in the country, the SEC Championship appears to be winner-takes-all. Cincinnati is the only other undefeated team with hopes of making the playoffs, but they are currently ranked 5th, which would keep them out of the playoffs. Being from the American Conference, the only thing holding the Bearcats back is their strength of schedule. Their only ranked opponent was Notre Dame, who they beat 24-13 early in the season. The rankings have Oregon and Ohio State ranked 3rd and 4th respectively, meaning that if the season ended today, there would be no team from the Big 12 or the ACC in the playoffs. The only threat to Oregon is Utah, meanwhile, Ohio State still has to go through 6th ranked Michigan and 7th ranked Michigan State. There will be some huge games in the Big Ten in the next couple of weeks that will determine who will play in the Conference Championship.
