Big 12 Week 12 Picks
TCU @ Baylor (TCU -2.0)
This game looks like it will be determined by the run game, and both teams have strong rushing attacks, with TCU over rushing for over 200 yards per game and Baylor 0.4 yards below that same mark. The trenches for Baylor were projected to be a strength coming into the season, with three linemen on the Big 12 Preseason first team. This will be a tight game, and Baylor will be looking to get revenge for last year when TCU ruined Baylor’s chances of making the CFP. TCU covers and wins.
Pick: TCU -2.0
Kansas State @ West Virginia (KSU -8.0)
Kansas State has the inside track to make the conference championship game against TCU as long as they win out, and it begins in Morgantown. WVU needs to win the remaining two games to be bowl eligible. Garrett Greene showed he is the future and should be the starter for WVU, but he is only a sophomore going against an experienced defense with a mission to be completed. Neal Brown’s time as the head coach also looks to be coming to an end. Kansas State leaves no doubt and covers the spread.
Pick: Kansas State -8.0
Texas @ Kansas (TEX -9.0)
These teams both lost last week, but many questions were asked of Quinn Ewers and why Bijan Robinson only got 12 touches against TCU. Jalon Daniels could be back to play, but Jason Bean has played well in his absence. The spread is a lot to cover, especially with two evenly-matched teams and the favorite on the road. I will take the Jayhawks to cover and would not be surprised if they win it outright.
Pick: Kansas +9.0
Texas Tech @ Iowa State (ISU -3.5)
The weather for this game has a temperature below 20 degrees, but the skies will be clear at kickoff. The Iowa State offense had five turnovers last week against Oklahoma State, but the defense kept them in the game, and ISU had a chance to win the game with under a minute left. Tech has the better offense and defense that is getting better, so my pick is the Red Raiders getting points.
Pick: Texas Tech +3.5
Oklahoma State @ Oklahoma (OU -7.0)
Spencer Sanders came in last week against Iowa State to save the day, and it resulted in a win. He is a difference-maker for Oklahoma State. According to Vegas, the hook in the spread may decide who wins the game, so I will take the Cowboys.
Pick: Oklahoma State +7.0
