Big 12 Week 10 Picks
Texas Tech @ TCU (TCU -8.5)
TCU is coming off a road win in that they got a late cover, while Tech is playing three QBs and an offense that is up and down and has no clear leader for the offense. The CFP rankings came out on Tuesday and have ranked TCU 7th. This is lower than many thought it would be and can be some bulletin board material. Tech will try every trick play and go for it on 4th down to ruin TCU season. TCU stays focused on just this game and gets the cover win.
Pick: TCU -8.5
Baylor @ Oklahoma (OU -3.5)
Both teams seemed to be finding out how their teams can get wins. Baylor has the better defense, but Oklahoma has the better offense. I am taking the ground game of Baylor behind Richard Reese and Qualan Jones to play keep away. This game is similar to the Kansas State game against OU, so I will take the Bears.
Pick: Baylor +3.5
Oklahoma St @ Kansas (EVEN)
This line has moved in favor of Kansas, which could be because of the status of Spencer Sanders. The whole situation is very murky, and the line reflects this. Also, Jalon Daniels looks to be returning for Kansas. The Jayhawks win a close game late.
Pick: Kansas
West Virginia @ Iowa St (-7.0)
The battle of the bottom of the Big 12. West Virginia has the offense, and Iowa State has the defense, but neither has much on the other side of the ball. The game is in Ames, but a whole touchdown is too much for me, so I will take the Mountaineers to cover.
Pick: WVU +7.0
Texas @ Kansas St (UT -2.5)
The Wildcats are a home underdog against a Texas team that struggles on the road, losing their last five true road games. Will Howard has added a new dimension to KSU’s offense. He has 521 passing yards in only two games compared to Adrian Martinez’s 907 in four games and one drive in his fifth game. Martinez is the better runner of the two, but Howard is adequate enough, and with Deuce Vaughn in the backfield, KSU can have a more balanced attack with Howard at QB. I am taking KSU and the points.
Pick: KSU +2.5
