Austin Herro Going to the University of South Carolina

Columbia, South Carolina (PSF) - Austin Herro, the younger brother of Tyler Herro, has committed to playing basketball for the University of South Carolina. He announced on Instagram, wearing a No. 1 Gamecocks jersey and encouraging others to write their own stories.

Austin Herro recently graduated from Whitnall High School in suburban Milwaukee, where he played basketball for four years. As a senior, he averaged 15 points, six rebounds, and five assists as a 6'3" combo guard. Despite having an offer from Cal Poly, Herro has chosen to join the South Carolina Gamecocks and compete in the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

South Carolina had a challenging season, finishing with an 11-21 record under first-year coach Lamont Paris. However, Herro's commitment brings potential talent and excitement to the program as they look to improve in the upcoming seasons.

Tyler Herro had a successful college career at the University of Kentucky. He was named the SEC Newcomer of the Year in 2019 before deciding to enter the NBA draft that same year. Before entering the NBA Draft, he was named the SEC Newcomer of the Year. In 2019, the Miami Heat selected him with the 13th overall pick in the draft.

Tyler Herro has made a significant impact in the NBA and has established himself as one of the league's promising shooting guards. In 2022, he was honored with the Sixth Man of the Year award, recognizing his outstanding contributions coming off the bench. During the past season, he averaged 20 points, five rebounds, and four assists, showcasing his versatility and scoring ability.

Tyler Herro's success and accomplishments in the NBA undoubtedly serve as an inspiration and a positive influence on his younger brother, Austin Herro, as he begins his collegiate career in South Carolina.
