Will The Pelicans Part Ways With Zion Williamson?

The Pelicans may be looking to fly Zion off to another team in a potential trade. Williamson’s inconsistent health and personal issues have taken a toll on the New Orleans team, and not for the best. The No. one pick in the 2019 draft has not lived up to the expectations fans or the organizations placed on his name. One NBA writer, Ishaan Bhattacharya for Fadeaway World, proposed that the Pelicans should enter a trade deal with the Clippers for Paul George. In that deal, New Orleans would not only gain George but add Terrance Mann and a first-round pick in 2029. Both George and Williamson have been in the mix of trade discussions this off-season, and it is uncertain what is next for both players.

There have been rumors that the relationship between the Pelicans and Williamson is beginning to sour. Though he is an electric force on the court, it is not often to see Zion play. The Pelicans have been, and still are, concerned about his diet and commitment to basketball, as he has only played 114 games out of 308 in his NBA career. However, Williamson is still marketable since he was a first-round pick and his abilities on the court. His NBA career averages are 25.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. While George has only played 87 out of a possible 164 games in the past two seasons due to injuries, he is still a veteran in this league. Paul is an eight-time All-Star averaging 23.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists. Both players are and still can be valuable in this league. Will the state of LA swap with the city of LA in hopes of a better season?
