What is going on with the Chicago Bulls?
Hey everyone, you usually see me in the NFL section of PSF writing about the Bears, usually negative. I was hoping to write something positive about the Chicago Bulls and yet the start to the season has been rough.
The first game of the season and we already saw trouble in paradise. More like paradise pending in our case. Our first game of the season ended in a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, the final score being 124-104. Our leading scorer for that game was small forward DeMar DeRozan who had 20 points, five rebounds, and two assists while shooting 9-20 from the field and 1-3 from beyond the arc.
Then, news comes out that the roster had a players only meeting in the locker room after the embarrassing loss. It makes no sense how we couldnβt get anything going against the Thunder. We had a 35-33 lead by the end of the first quarter and afterwards we never got it back.
Then we have center Nikola Vucevic and head coach Billy Donovan getting into a shouting match during the game. Sometimes I donβt know if this is worse then when Jim Boylen was our coach. During those years, the players mutinied.
Then you have a misread quote from Zach Lowe of ESPN making Bulls fans believe that power forward Patrick Williams wanted a $200 million extension. Ultimately we have no idea how much he actually wants. If it truly was 200 million then at that point see what you could get for him in a trade. If its not then see what you can do for a contract because he is at bare minimum a decent defender.
Currently we are 2-3 on the year and are going back home to take on the Brooklyn Nets at 7pm for the first NBA In-Season Tournament Group Stage matchup. Hoping to see a decent turn-around for the team before this gets worse.
