Warriors of The West

The Golden State Warriors have made some very solid plays in this off-season to get ready for the upcoming 2021-22 season. Amongst those opportunities were new and some old acquisitions such as veteran Andre Iguodola and fresh new faces Johnathan Kuminga and Moses Moody. With that being said, the front office of Golden State has been on their “A” game for the entire off season.

Both Kuminga and Moody played really well when it came to playing in the NBA summer league. Even though they both came out of college with different roles for the team, they made major impacts during this past summer. The public sees Moody as a three-and-D type of player which fits the Warriors system perfectly, meanwhile Kuminga is looking towards more of the superstar spectrum in later years. Kuminga showed some crazy talent in the G-league averaging 17.3 PPG and 6.3 RPG along with a block and almost 2 steals per game. Moody also showed tremendous upside coming out of Arkansas averaging 16.3 PPG while shooting 43% from the field and 37% from the three point line.

With the slow return of superstar Klay Thompson and a sophomore in James Wiseman, the “Dub Club” should be looking forward to an exciting season. Even though Wiseman and Thompson will not be returning until closer to the All Star game, the Warriors now have pieces to put in place for the time being. Another signing in this off season that was beneficial to this team was signing Otto Porter Jr. The 6’8 Forward averaged around 10 PPG, 5 RPG, and 3 APG this past season. Porter Jr. will definitely be receiving heavy minutes off the bench and will be another “X” factor to this Warriors offense.
