The Golden State Warriors struggled more than usual this past season. Their season started with an incident, where Draymond Green punched Jordan Poole in practice. The seasoned champs were ranked sixth in the west and were lucky to make it to the Western Conference Semifinals after a game seven against the Sacramento Kings. Now, in more recent news, Draymond Green declined his player option with the Warriors and is now considered an unrestricted free agent (UFA). The deal with the Warriors was worth $27.5 million, and Green turned down the offer in a potential attempt to gain a better contract. His agent, Rich Paul, stated that Golden State may still be an option for Green and hasn’t been ruled out.

Though Draymond has never been a threat offensively, he has been recognized for his tenacious attitude and defensive game. The Warriors have also acknowledged Green as a leader of the team and a motivating player to his teammates. Despite the good characteristics of Green, the team also noticed the incident between him and Poole had a negative impact on the entire team. Draymond has a great defense but is not a rookie at receiving technical fouls or trash-talking. This in return does not help him or his teammates. So the question remains, will Golden State push to get Draymond Green back, or will it be a better decision to try his luck at joining a different team?
