In a recent deal between the Miami Heat and the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Heat has decided to send Oladipo back to the Thunder. This trade occurred shortly after Miami lost Max Strus and Gabe Vincent to free agency. The Heat made an exchange with the Thunder, in which OKC will receive Oladipo and draft compensation to absorb his $9.45 million expiring contract. With that being said, Miami created a trade exception that is worth Oladipo’s expiring contract. This is so the Heat can use that $9.45 million to sign or trade for another veteran that can immediately help them this upcoming season, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Oladipo is still in rehab and recovering from his most recent injury in this year’s playoffs. Victor is said to have torn his patellar tendon in his left knee, which ended his playoff season with the Heat early. It is still anticipated that it will take him about six months to finish rehab. Oladipo is a 31-year-old vet that has had his third major surgery in the previous four years of his career. Since then he has been traded from Indiana to Houston and was then traded from Houston to Miami. Now he is being traded from Miami back to Oklahoma where he’s only spent one season with the Thunder. Will he find a stable position with the Thunder, or are organizations beginning to believe his career is thinning out?
