The Hornets are a must watch team in the NBA

Now there are tons of variables that make a team a must watch. You can watch the Nets with Kevin Durant’s spectacular play, The warriors for their engaging ball movement, or just watch Lebron do Lebron things on the Los Angeles Lakers. Yet I think the 20 yr old in his second season has single handedly Rejuvenated a long mediocre franchise.  His name is Lamelo Ball and he has definitely lived up to the hype.

The Hornets are building on a good start, but a tragic end of the 20-21 season. With a 144-117 loss in indiana during the play in Tournament. Given, there was injuries throughout the roster, being Gordon Hayward and earlier in the season Lamelo himself. But as the hornets are on a honorable 15-13 start, every game has been the greatest show in Buzz to say the least. WIth close games between the Kings and 76ers, there’s been some great games as of late.

Miles Bridges for one, his co pilot in this fantastic show had raced out averaging 24.6 ppg, 7.7rpg, and 2.7 assists. He’s cooled off as of now but he’s given us some great moments at the start of the season. He has great size, motor, and offers some spacing when needed. A perfect pairing that should stay together as long as the basketball gods possibly let them.

Gordon Hayward and Terrry Rozier when healthy have been great vets, doing a little bit of everything when on the floor to keep a steady output for the young guns on the roster. Averaging a steady 17.65 ppg, 4.25rpg, and 3.75 assets. They slow the game down when needed and have gone for some big nights themselves.

My favorite addition to the team, Kelly Oubre has added a certain showmanship to this team that could’ve been added. When he’s on the court he cherishes being in the limelight, being a hero so to speak. During the 76ers game, he was fantastic. Holding the follow through, having some posters, and overall making the game a great time. Kelly has been all you could’ve wanted whether starting or holding up the second unit. With a solid 17ppg, on 48% fg and 38% from deep, he adds another dimension to this team.

And last but not least, it’s time to bring it back to the star of the show, Lamelo Ball, He’s orchestrated  the best offense in the NBA. With a league leading 116 ppg, Lamelo leads his team in 3 of the major categories being, Assists, Rebounds, and Steals. Pouring in another 20 ppg of his own along with those 8 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 steals, I think it’s safe to say he’s capable of taking the leap sooner or later He’s shooting a scorching hot 42% on catch and shoot 3’s, along with his 39% on all threes, along with a 90% ft%. . But it’s not all good as it seems as this also results in a 41% fg paired with a below average TS% of 54 he still has visible room to grow. But he’s been so fun to watch regardless, giving himself up on defense, the unorthodox pass release when he plays, along with this willingness to make his teammates better. As someone who didn’t live to see the 90’s hornets with lonzo and prime Larry Johnson, this has been the greatest show i’ve ever seen someone put on in charlotte.

Might I add highlights seem to run in his blood, ever since Chino Hills he has enough highlights to make a career reel. And he’s only 20. and by far one of my favorite players this season.

You can catch the Hornets Monday December 13th at 8:30 as they square against a stagnant Mavericks team. I hope you are having a wonderful day.
