The United States Men’s National Basketball Team is preparing for the the upcoming 2023 FIBA World Cup, and fans worldwide are anticipating the new Team USA roster. According to reliable sources from ESPN, Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans and Jaren Jackson Jr. from the Memphis Grizzlies have recently committed to representing their country in the tournament, which will be held in the Philippines this summer. With these new additions, Team USA now have a total of eight confirmed players for the FIBA World Cup.

The total of eight commits to playing the FIBA World Cup this summer for Team USA are:

  1. Mikal Bridges (Brooklyn Nets)

  2. Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks)

  3. Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves)

  4. Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers)

  5. Bobby Portis (Milwaukee Bucks)

  6. Austin Reaves (Los Angeles Lakers)

  7. Brandon Ingram (New Orleans Pelicans)

  8. Jaren Jackson Jr. (Memphis Grizzlies)

While it’s unlikely that Lebron, Curry, or Durant will join Team USA, fans remain hopeful that Team USA will bounce back from the 2019 World Cup, where they finished seventh place, the worst finish in program history. The final 12-man roster, carefully selected by Hill and Kerr, will be finalized and published by the end of the month.

The FIBA World Cup will begin on August 25, 2023. Team USA will participate in Group C and face New Zealand on August 26, 2023. They will play Greece on August 28 and Jordan on August 30. The top two finishers in Group C will then join the top two finishers from Group D.
