Surprise! The Knicks Are Inconsistent

After a tough, heart-warming win against the Golden State Warriors, the Knicks decided to throw an ice pick back at my heart, dropping 2 straight games to 2 of the worst teams currently in the NBA, the Oklahoma City Thunder and Portland Trail Blazers. What makes it worse is not that they lost, but just exactly how they lost to these teams.

Let’s start with the craziness of their matchup against Portland. The Knicks were up 23 with less than half of the 3rd quarter to go, then proceeded to score only 11 points in the 4th quarter, and losing the game 112-103. So what exactly happened? Well, in the 4th quarter, the entire Knicks roster looked absolutely depleted, as the offense could not get any movement going, forcing a lot of difficult Alec Burks and Julius Randle (who looked completely exhausted) contested jumpers while Anfernee Simons turned into the new Damian Lillard. I feel as if that put the right picture in your mind as to how the rest of the game went. Onto the next.

Against the Oklahoma City Thunder, I had said in the Knicks Fanatics chat on the Relevnt App (yeah I just did that) that I did not know what I was going to do with myself if the Knicks were not to walk away with a win. For a large portion of the game, things were looking alright. Randle was having an awesome game along with Mitch and Grimes, and even Chris Distefano was sitting courtside and got put on the big screen. All seemed fine, but then things fell apart late in the 4th, as the Knicks squandered a 4 point lead with a minute left from a useless challenge call and a lack of offense.

However, with 20 seconds left, Quentin Grimes makes up for the Knicks failures by getting a layup off of an Evan Fournier steal, putting the Knicks up 2 with a little over 15 seconds left. However, Darius Bazley got a layup with 5.5 seconds left, and the Knicks had no more timeouts because of Tom’s horrendous brain, so they got a bad shot off, and it went to OT.

In overtime, the Knicks could never take control, and Josh Giddey’s perfect play helped the Thunder squeak one out and the Thunder won 127-123. I can’t believe this team.

The Knicks play tomorrow against Brooklyn. Please win.
