A Short Preview Of The Boston Celtics Summer League Roster

The summer league has officially started for the NBA.

This is a chance for rookies and players who didn’t get their chance to play in the league to show out and show recruiters that they can ball. A lot of the players who are playing in the summer league come from G-Leauge teams, two-way contracts, and free agents.

Throughout the Celtics summer league roster, there are a few standouts who had short stints in the league, or G-Leauge who are ready to prove that they are ready to be on an NBA roster. Some of those players are JD Davidson, Justin Champagne, and the Celtics' newest rookie Jordan Walsh.

JD Davidson:

Davidson is listed as 6’1 and has been a part of the Celtics organization for this past year on a two-way contract going back and forth from Boston to the Celtics G-League team called the “Maine Celtics.” Davidson has shown time and again that he is a true guard from his shooting from the three and his ability to move the ball. He was averaging thirteen points and eight assists a game.

Justin Champagine:

Champagine is a forward for the Boston Celtics who signed late in the year for the Celtics' playoff run. Champagine is listed as 6’6. Champagine was a great player at PITT and showed promise throughout his time at the University of Pittsburgh, Champagine had a short stint in Toronto as well.

Jordan Walsh:

Walsh played college ball at the University of Arkansas and is a great pickup by the Boston Celtics. Walsh is listed as 6’7. Walsh was projected to go in the late first round but was picked late in the second round at the 38th pick. During his time in Arkansas, he was going right to the paint in almost every possession. Walsh has also shown promise that he can become a spot-up three-point shooter as well.
