Predicting The All-NBA First Team

Guard: Ja Morant

This is the year for Ja Morant to prove why he is the best point guard in the league. Morant led a young Grizzlies squad to the second seed in the West, averaging 27.4 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 49.3 percent from the field and 34.4 percent from three.

Let's keep in mind that he was only in his third season at 22 years old and made the All-NBA Second Team. Year after year, Morant has made significant improvements in his game; his stats and team record reflect that. I'm looking forward to the young guard exploding into next season and proving to everyone that he is a superstar in this league.

Guard: Luka DonCIC

The second guard position was a hard choice, but ultimately, I had to go with Luka Dončić. Dončić has already proven to be a young superstar in this league. At just 22 years old last season, he was one of the five players to make the All-NBA First Team. I expect Dončić to continue his dominance for a long time, and next season won't be any different.

In the past few seasons, he's started very slowly due to not being in shape. However, this off-season, he has been playing overseas for Slovenia and has kept in very good basketball shape. I expect an MVP-caliber season from Dončić.

Forward: Giannis Antetokounmpo

I shouldn't have to say much about Giannis making the All-NBA First Team. In my opinion, he is the best player on the planet now and a dominant force on both the offensive and defensive end. Last year, he was voted onto the First Team by unanimous vote.

I expect Antetokounmpo to continue his dominance and win either the MVP or DPOY for this upcoming season.

Forward: Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis is my dark horse to make the All-NBA First Team. Davis had a rough 2021-22 season due to consistent injuries. However, if Davis can stay healthy (and I know that's a big if) and play around 65 games this season, he'll have a great chance at making the team.

He'll be responsible for carrying the team on offense this season while being the defensive anchor down low. Darvin Ham and LeBron have stated that they expect Davis to be the number one scoring option in every game he is available. This is the year for Davis to step up and prove that he can lead a playoff team. I expect a redemption season for Davis.

Center: Nikola Jokic

Nikola Jokić has been showing the league why he has been a top-three NBA player for the past two seasons. He has won back-to-back league MVPs and can do everything on the court. He is the best passing big man the league has ever seen, can score the ball from the post, midrange, and three-point range, and is a great rebounder.

However, I could see Joel Embiid being very motivated this season and taking Jokić's spot on the first team, but I'm still going to bet on Jokić. He now has his co-stars back, Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr., so I expect the Nuggets to make some noise in the West behind Jokić's MVP performances.
