Warriors Win Game 1!

Tonight, Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors faced off against Ja Morant and his young Memphis Grizzlies.

This was an exciting game going all the way down to the wire. This series has been one of the most anticipated series this season. Last season, this Grizzlies team put this Golden State Warriors team out of playoffs in the Play-in with hopes to repeat history and accomplish the same feat, but this now healthy Warriors team is prepared to get their revenge.

The game was never out of reach for either team. Before the game, it was reported that Gary Payton Jr would be starting for the Warriors, which was an adjustment for the previous and maybe one to cater to the Grizzlies defense in this game. The Warriors started off the game letting Morant shoot threes early, emphasizing that they would rather him shoot threes than get to the basket. Unfortunately for the Warriors, Morant accepted that challenge, making them pay for the space they were offering him. He knocked down 2 threes in the first quarter and ended with 12. The Warriors would get in foul trouble early ending the first half with 3 players with 3 fouls. Draymond Green would get ejected in the 2nd quarter a controversial call that looked like it would put the Warriors at a disadvantage. Jaren Jackson was big for the Grizzlies hitting 6 threes and ending with 33 points. Morant led with 34 points and a near triple-double with 9 rebounds and 10 assists. But that was not enough for the Grizzlies to pull out with a win. Jordan Poole was huge for the warriors once again, coming off the bench and scoring 31 points 9 assists and 8 rebounds. Steph followed with 24 points, which would lead this Warriors team to leave tonight with a clutch win as Morant would miss the game-winning layup in the last 3.6 seconds of the game.
