My Top 3 Favorite Players To Watch This Season

1.) Shai-Gilgeous Alexander

I’ve been a fan of Shai since his days at Kentucky and when he got drafted by the Hornets(which the Clippers had trade rights to) I was disappointed. Being a Knicks fan seeing all the talent around you and you get Kevin Knox makes you sick. SGA took his leap when getting traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Every year he’s been there he has gotten better and better. He truly makes them look like a contender for such a young team. This season Shai is averaging 29.9 ppg, six rebounds, and six assists. Shai is also shooting 36% from 3, 53.8 fg%, and 93.9 ft%.

He’s having another unreal season, so far and I’ve been saying this for a while but the conversation for him being a top 3 PG needs to be discussed more often. The young core of Jalen Williams, Lugentz Dort, Chet Holmgren, and Shai are great. Not only that, with the amount of draft picks they have the Thunder are going to be competing heavily for a while.

2.) Anthony Edwards

Since Ant’s stint with Team USA this summer everyone has labeled to breakout this season and that’s exactly what he’s been doing. He was the best player hands down on that team and he’s continued that into this season. Averaging 26 ppg, five rebs, and five ast on 46% from the field he’s leading his team in a great direction. He’s taken on a leadership and accountability role at such a young age and is turning into the franchise player the Minnesota Timberwolves has been waiting for. That’s not a knock on Karl Anthony Towns who has been playing great, but Edwards seems to be on another level at the moment.

3) Tyrese Haliburton

How can you not talk about Haliburton as of right now, probably the league’s most on-fire player at the moment. He has been playing at an unreal stretch this season, and making the Indiana Pacers play maybe better than most might expect. Haliburton right now is averaging 26.9 ppg 4 rebounds and 11.9 assists a game which is the league's best. However, despite that, it’s the IN-Season tournament where he has shined. He has put up multiple 30-point games while averaging 10-plus assists each game. It’s not unreal to put him in a top-five PG, at the moment. If he keeps this level of play up, I can see Haliburton making his first all-star game, but not only that he will be starting in it as well. How fitting would that be given the all-star game this year is in Indiana.
