Montrezl Harrell Diagnosed With Torn ACL

Montrezl Harrell went to get an MRI this past Wednesday and learned that he has a torn ACL and meniscus. Of course, this means that Harrell will most likely miss all of next season for the Philadelphia 76ers. Harrell, who signed a one-year deal to remain in Philadelphia this past off-season would likely have seen time coming off the bench and served as a “bench captain” for the team.

For the Philadelphia 76ers, this means Mo Bamba’s role on the team becomes even more valuable as the backup to Joel Embiid. He would perhaps need to compete with Harrell for such a role in camp. This frees up another bench spot for the 76ers, and they did go out and sign Filip Petrušev from the European league. Petrušev was originally drafted by Philadelphia in the second round when he came out of Gonzaga in 2021.
