Mac McClung Back-To-Back Dunk Contest Champion
Mac McClung, a NBA G-League player currently with the Osceola Magic as a point guard participated in the 2024 Slam Dunk contest. McClung has always been known for his dunking abilities starting from his high school days at Gate City High School, in Gate City, Virginia. Continuing his play at the next level at Georgetown University and Texas Technical College. After finishing his college career McClung participated in the 2020-2021 NBA draft where he went unselected. He then went on to play in the NBA G-league.
The 2024 Slam Dunk Contest consisted of players Jaylen Brown, a shooting guard for the Boston Celtics, Jaime Jaquez Jr., a rookie small forward for the Miami Heat, Jacob Toppin, a forward for the New York Knicks, and Mac McClung, a point guard for the Osceola Magic (g-league).
McClung, a 6 '2 a point guard with a whopping vertical of 43.5 inches, walks away from the Slam Dunk contest as a back-to-back champion. Having only ever played in four NBA games and now plays in the G-league, he has established a name for himself. Becoming one of the five players in Slam Dunk contest history to win it back-to-back. The other four being Michael Jordan, a shooting guard and small forward for the Chicago Bulls, Jason Richardson, a shooting guard for the Golden State Warriors, Nate Robinson, a point guard for the Boston Celtics, and Zach Lavine, a small forward and shooting guard for the Chicago Bulls.
