The Los Angeles Lakers traveled to Dallas on Sunday to take on the Mavericks. Around the three-minute mark in the third quarter, LeBron James went down with a right foot injury and claimed he heard a pop. Nevertheless, James continued to play the game to help the Lakers complete their 27-point comeback. However, each time he went to the bench, he took off his shoe and received medical help.

James has been dealing with injuries throughout this season, but this injury comes at a critical time for the Lakers. It was reported by Shams Charania that "LeBron James is expected to miss an indefinite amount of timeā€¦ I'm told likely at least two or three weeks."

Coming out of the All-Star break, James stated, "It's 23 of the most important games of my career, for the regular season," James said of the Lakers' remaining schedule. "That's the type of mindset that I have, and I hope the guys will have coming off the break... I'm going to figure out ways to make sure I'm available and on the floor for every single one of these 23 games." But, unfortunately, injuries like these are uncontrollable, and you cannot force yourself to play through them.

The Lakers are currently the 12th seed and only one game out of the 10th seed and five games out of the fifth seed. With the new Laker additions and only 20 games left in the season, there is still hope that they can sneak into a play-in spot and make a playoff run.
