Lakers win first game post all-star break
The Los Angeles Lakers got a convincing win their first game back after the All-Star break against the Golden State Warriors by a score of 124-111. The Lakers were led in scoring by trade deadline acquisition Malik Beasley as he scored 25 points knocking down 7 threes in the ballgame.
This was a huge win for the Lakers as they find themselves competing for a playoff spot after the All-Star break and have a stretch of games upcoming against teams ahead of them in the playoff race. LeBron and Anthony Davis didn’t need to score a lot in this one as Lebron finished with only 13 points and Anthony Davis only with 12. But with ample contribution from other players in the rotation Lebron and Davis didn’t need to carry the load offensively as much as they have in the past this season.
Since the trade deadline, the Lakers have won both games in convincing fashion. In addition, the players they acquired at the deadline have fit in nicely with a few of them being inserted into the starting lineup instantly. The Lakers have set themselves a goal of making it to the 6th seed in the playoffs, but many think it is more plausible that they make the play-in games. Either way the Lakers have an uphill climb and will need to string together wins as the end of the season comes close. The Lakers will be back in action on February 26th against the new duo of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving when they take on the Mavericks.
