Kevin Durant Passes Oscar Robertson on All-Time Scoring List

Iowa City, IA, PSF–On Friday evening in the Windy City of Chicago, Kevin Durant hit a 21-foot jumper against the Chicago Bulls to take a 9-6 lead in the first quarter.

Why is that shot so important?

Well, Durant passed one of the all-time greats in Oscar Robertson, and is now 13th on the all-time scoring list.

Kevin Durant sits at 26,764 points after his recent matchup Sunday against his former teammate, Kyrie Irving, and the Dallas Mavericks.

Hakeem Olajuwon sits ahead of him at 12th all-time with 26,946, so there is a great possibility Durant passes Olajuwon before the regular season ends.

Durant is also sitting at just 981 games played which is the only player in the top fifteen on the all-time scoring list that is under a thousand games played.

Yes, Durant has missed a season with his Achilles injury, but he is still getting better every year, so there is a good chance that he could end up as the all-time leading scorer that Lebron just achieved a few weeks ago.

This season, Durant is averaging 29.5 points per game, 6.8 rebounds, and 5.2 assists on a 68.1 true shooting percentage. The Suns are currently sitting 3-0 with Durant and Durant is 18-2 total in his last twenty games played.

If there is an NBA player now that’s capable of doing it, Kevin Durant is one of the few.
