Jordan Poole to D.C. Nation!
The absolute biggest news in the NBA today is finally here! The Washington Wizards agreed to transfer the future Hall of Fame point guard to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday in return for Jordan Poole, according to ESPN's, Adrian Wojnarowski. This came just after the teams agreed to send Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for a package that included Chris Paul.
According to NBA insider sources, Golden State will also give the Wizards a protected 2030 first-round selection as well as a 2027 second-round pick as part of this transaction. With Poole joining the Wizards' starting backcourt, he’ll take Beal's place as the starting shooting guard.
In the same news, a three-team deal with the Memphis Grizzlies came to a decently solid conclusion. The Wizards would acquire point guard Tyus Jones. Washington had already previously agreed to transfer Kristaps Porzingis to the Boston Celtics late Wednesday night, just before his deadline of midnight to exercise his $36 million player option for the next season.
Lastly, The Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma, one of the most interesting free agents available this summer, has rejected his player option and will become an unrestricted free agency, sources informed Wojnarowski this past Tuesday.
The trade game can be predictable, but this is one NBA fans didn’t see coming. There will be so many more trades this summer, and everyone’s excited about what’s to come!
