It’s time to talk about the Phoenix Suns

Relevnt

As the Suns beat the Nets in Barclays on Saturday, this cemented their 16th straight win. With the 2nd seed in the open west it’s time to start speaking on the Suns chances of winning the west and maybe even a Championship. With a current top 5 offense at 3 and a surprising top 10 defense at 8 (as per ESPN),  the Suns have as good a chance as any to win it all.

Devin Booker

He’s picked up exactly where he left off posting similar numbers to the teams finals’ run. After a shaky start in the beginning of the season he’s turned into the scorer all nba fans can rejoice with. Along with posting a career high in Defensive rating with an  103.9. He’s completely bought into the Sun’s system and their functioning like a well oiled machine. Devin Booker’s role is to score for this squad, and he’s living up to their expectations.

Chris Paul

A lot can be said about the soon to be HoF. Chris Paul is once again showing his ability to be an elite guard in the league. Current;y leading the league with 10.1 assists Chris paul has been the best addition the Suns have made to a roster in a long time. His effect on this team is paramount, and I don’t believe they will win it all without him. 2nd in +/- with 182 (as per Statmuse) on the Suns, behind NBA Stud Mikal Bridges  this team isn’t nearly as dynamic as he can tie the roster together.

Role Players

The suns are an incredibly deep squad, They play together and shine in their respective roles. Mikal Bridges has definitely been paramount to their success. He guards the other teams best player, scores efficiently, he’s a perfect 3 and d guy for their team. Jae crowder, the 3 and d veteran has done pretty much the same for his teams and recent years but a comparable switchable forward. Deandre Ayton on the other hand now has a large question make on his head as the 1st round pick didn’t get an extension this offseason. The suns are holding out on Ayton’s contract and what can wonder what there plans are for him as he is eligible to make 173M under his rookie scale extension (as per spotrac) , All and All the suns are a great team and in my eyes a Championship caliber roster.

The Suns play the Warriors next Tuesday on TNT at 10pm EST on November 30th for the potential number one seed in the West .
