Is this The Best MvP race Ever?

This NBA season has produced many interesting plot lines like the Lakers just about capsizing, the Ben Simmons Harden trade, and whatever Kyrie is thinking of. Yet, none have been as exciting and riveting as this year's MVP Race. With three legitimate candidates, and two that feel as if they should be there, it is the first time in history where the MVP might not decided until the final day of the regular season. A true three horse race has made for one incredible season of basketball, and the restoration of the philosophy that the center might just be the most important position in the league. As three “centers” are all in contention for this year’s MVP award we must first appreciate the way Embiid, Jokic, and Giannis have redefined the position adding shooting, passing, and ball handling to their already impressive skill sets.

It has been a tremendous season of basketball and an even more exciting race for the league’s most prestigious award. All three stars deserve it; Embed might be the first center to win the scoring title since Bob McAdoo in 1976, Jokic is essentially the leagues first 6’11 point guard, and Giannis, well Giannis is reminding us nightly we he is the best two-way player the league might ever see. One thing must be reiterated at a time like this when the all three deserve it from a numbers standpoint: the MVP is not necessarily the most valuable individual, but the most valuable to the team.
