How Devin Booker injury affects the Suns

Devin Booker has a “mild hamstring strain” per the suns and Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN states that Suns star Devin Booker will miss games 3 and 4 of their first-round series vs the New Orleans Pelicans. The series is tied 1-1 and Booker has not been ruled out for it yet.

Missing Devein Booker will be a huge loss for the Suns and is a huge blow to the morale of a team that has dominated the league this season and won 64 games. The Suns should be able to win in the first round without Booker. They were 8-6 without him and the last 3 losses came at the end of the year while they were resting everyone. The suns outscored opponents by 6.2 points per 100 possessions during the regular season without Booker per NBA.com and they have plenty of depth. They have Landry Shamet who is a talented shooter and mover off the ball. They will probably play Cam Johnson a lot more minutes as well and he is a good multi-dimensional player that is great in the suns system.

The Suns will need Chris paul and Deandre Ayton to play well and out-duel Brandon Ingram and CJ McCoullum. That is something those players are capable of and the Suns are the deeper team. Hopefully, Booker can make a full recovery and be 100% for the rest of the playoffs. It would be a shame if a great season went to waste because of an injury.
