Heat outlast hornets at home, Butler leads the way

The Heat housed the Hornets in FTX arena Thursday, as they added to their win column in a disappointing start to the season and to reached a .500 record at home. An overtime outing, featured a season high 35 points and 2 assists shy of a triple double. He led the way on offense and defense all night, and after a team high 42 minutes played Butler excelled in Thursday’s outing.

A 2-9 Lamelo-less Hornets competed well until a 31 point 4th quarter almost put them over the top. Kelly Oubre, their top contributor added 29 points on 7-13 shooting from 3. Rozier scored 22, Plumlee and Vanderbilt added 16 of their own. Scoring came from all over the floor, and after a 12-23 Fourth quarter they found themselves being able to get to overtime. But it wasn’t enough to snap the hornets recent 7-game losing streak.

The Heat got some help from Adabeyo’s double-double and Robinson,Strus, and Vincent all added 14 points. The Hornets got back after the Heat couldn’t seem to hold off a 14-2 run early in the fourth quarter. The Heat slowed down to a sub 20-point quarter, but brought themselves back to life in overtime following a late game Butler rally.

The Heat moved to 4-4 at home and the Hornets 7-game losing streak continues. These teams are due for a rematch back in FTX Saturday.
