Heat lose to Blazers, fall to 4-7
Another home loss for the Heat came in the hands of the Portland Trail Blazers in a 110-107 defeat. Josh Hart’s deep corner 3 ended the game after what looked like a close Heat win.
After a 37-point fourth quarter, the Blazers got themselves back in position to take the game. Despite Lillard only finishing with 19 points on a meddling 4-12 shooting night, the Blazers found a way to pour it on. Simons and Grant led the way with their 25 and 23 points respectively. Simons finished the quarter going 4-6 and Grant finished 2-2 from 3-PT to get the team close enough to at least send them to OT. The Heat’s biggest lead was 15 and they led by 9 going into the 4th but that seemed to disappear soon enough.
5 of the 8 playing players scored 15 or more points, with Adebayo, Strus, and Butler tied for the lead with 16. The Blazers at the end of the game went 8-8 from the field in the last 6 minutes. The Miami defense didn’t hold up; Simons and Lillard made it easy for the rest of their team to score. The Blazers finished 13-17 shooting in the quarter.
On the other hand, the Heat got shot off the floor after going 7-17 in the quarter scoring only four points in the final two minutes. The Heat fell once again to 4-7 and 1-4 at home.
