Eastern Conference Injury Report Updates
The 2023-2024 NBA season is just past the midway point, and many players throughout the league are facing injuries, some being serious.
Here is a complete breakdown of injuries riddling the Eastern Conference:
Boston Celtics (37-12)
Luke Kornet (Center)- Suffered hamstring injury January 27th and has missed the past three games. Listed as out, but probable for upcoming game Sunday (2/4).
Jaylen Brown (Shooting Guard)- Monitored day-to-day with back tightness. Listed as questionable for upcoming game.
Milwaukee Bucks (32-16)
Andre Jackson Jr. (Guard)- Missed the past two games after suffering a wrist sprain during practice. Being monitored, out until further notice.
New York Knicks (32-17)
1. Mitchell Robinson (Center)- Underwent left ankle surgery in December after suffering a stress fracture. Optimism for regular-season return.
2. Julius Randle (Power Forward)- Expected to miss 2-3 weeks with a dislocated shoulder injury. Will be re-evaluated.
3. Quentin Grimes (Shooting Guard)- Listed as day-to-day monitoring a knee injury. No update on when his return will be.
4. OG Anunoby (Shooting Forward)- Missed four straight games with elbow inflammation. Hopeful return this week.Cleveland Cavaliers (30-16)
Ty Jerome (Shooting Guard)- Underwent Arthroscopic surgery on right ankle on January 23rd. Out for the remainder of the season.
Philadelphia 76ers (30-17)
Robert Covington (Power Forward)- Deemed inactive for the team and will be re-evaluated in 3-4 weeks. Has been ruled out since December 20th with right knee effusion and inflammation.
De’Anthony Melton (Shooting Guard)- Ruled out and missed 10 straight games with lumbar spine stress response. Possibility of return as early as Monday (2/6).
Joel Embiid (Center)- Lateral meniscus injury/displaced flap of the meniscus in left knee suffered against the Warriors on Tuesday, January 30th. Weighing options including rehab, rest, or surgery, which would require him to miss an extended amount of time.
Nicolas Batum (Power Forward)- Missed three straight games with left hamstring tightness. Ruled out and no update on return.
Indiana Pacers (27-23)
Jalen Smith (Power Forward)- Questionable for upcoming game Sunday (2/4). Has missed time due to lower back spasms. Listed as day-to-day.
Benedict Mathurin (Shooting Guard)- Listed as day-to-day, and missed two consecutive games with a sprained right toe. Questionable for game Sunday (2/4).
Myles Turner (Center)- Suffered left ankle sprain Friday, February 2nd against the Kings. No update on return or severity of injury.
Tyrese Haliburton (Point Guard)- Listed as day-to-day. Suffered a left hamstring strain January 8th against the Celtics, has missed 10 out of 11 games before his monitored return on January 30th.
Miami Heat (26-23)
Dru Smith (Guard)- Suffered ACL injury on November 24th. Out for the remainder of the season.
Duncan Robinson (Forward)- Out for three straight games due to a concussion. Adhering to NBA concussion protocol, unsure of return.
Orlando Magic (26-23)
No listed injuries.
Chicago Bulls (23-26)
Lonzo Ball (Point Guard)- Missed the entire 2022-2023 NBA season. Expected to miss the current season due to torn left meniscus recovery.
Patrick Williams (Power Forward)- Listed as out and waiting to be re-evaluated in two weeks due to acute bone edema.
Zach Lavine (Shooting Guard)- Announced Saturday, February 3rd the guard will be undergoing a season-ending surgery on his right foot. Expected to be out 4-6 months.
Dalen Terry (Forward)- Listed as out until further notice. Has missed two straight games with a right ankle sprain
Atlanta Hawks (22-27)
Saddiq Bey (Shooting Forward)- Experienced left ankle sprain Friday, February 2nd. Listed as day-to-day. Injury does not seem to be serious.
Wesley Matthews (Shooting Guard)- Missed nine straight games with right calf sprain. Played Friday, February 2nd before returning to the bench for the next game for management of injury.
Vit Krejci (Center)- Has remained sidelined throughout the season with a shoulder injury. Unprobable to return soon.
Brooklyn Nets (20-28)
Dariq Whitehead (Forward)- Underwent season-ending surgery in January on his left shin. Expected to need three months to recover.
Day’ron Sharpe (Center)- Has been sidelined since January 7th with a hyperextended left knee. No timeline for return.
Dorian Finney-Smith (Power Forward)- Missed three straight games due to a left ankle sprain. Questionable return for game Monday, February 5th.
Toronto Raptors (17-31)
Jontay Porter (Center)- Set to miss second straight game with lower back spasms. No update on return.
RJ Barrett (Shooting Guard)- Listed as out with left knee swelling. Has been sidelined since January 26th, questionable return for upcoming game Sunday, February 4th
Charlotte Hornets (10-37)

14. Washington Wizards (9-39)
Tyus Jones (Point Guard)- Suffered left ankle sprain Friday, February 2nd. Being monitored for return.
Marvin Bagley III (Power Forward)- Set to miss a second straight game after re-agitating lower back sprain. Unclear if he will return within the week.
Bilal Coulibaly (Shooting Guard)- Set to miss first game Sunday, February 4th with new lower back contusion. Continuing to be monitored.
Isaiah Livers (Power Forward)- Missed seven straight games with right hip soreness. Remains without a timeline for return.
Kyle Kuzma (Shooting Forward)- Downgraded to out with left shoulder soreness. Will continue to be monitored, no update on timeline for return.
15. Detroit Pistons (6-42)
Isaish Stewart (Center)- Expected to miss 10-14 days with left ankle sprain. Will be re-
evaluated.
Cade Cunningham (Point Guard)- Missed substantial time with left knee strain. Listed as day-to-day, but playing normal minutes.
Mike Muscala (Center)- Sustained concussion this past week. Entering concussion protocol, no update on return.
