3 players you shouldn’t give up on in Fantasy Basketball

Jalen Green, SG - Houston Rockets

Jalen Green has been on a tear over the last week in fantasy basketball after starting the year slow from an efficiency standpoint. In the last week or so, Green has been much better in the efficiency department, leading to better performances in fantasy.

On the season so far, Green is averaging 11.6 fantasy points per game on 22 points, four rebounds, and three assists per game in real life. If the last five games have shown nothing else, it has shown that Green is worth a roster spot, even if it means taking the good with the bad when he has an inefficient night here and there.

Brandon Clarke, PF, C - Memphis Grizzlies

Brandon Clarke can almost be labeled a fantasy disappointment this season. I am not quite there, even with the return of Jaren Jackson Jr. to the rotation. Clarke signed a four-year extension with Memphis before the start of the season, so in turn, fantasy managers who snagged Clarke in their drafts were hoping for him to take a step forward this season after getting paid.

So far, this hasn’t been the case, and Clarke has had to fight for minutes on a good Memphis Grizzlies roster. Still, Clarke has provided solid fantasy production even in limited minutes averaging 10 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in under 20 minutes a night. Solid enough to warrant him being rostered in points leagues, and if an injury were to happen in the Grizzlies frontcourt, Clarke would be the beneficiary of those additional minutes.

Marcus Morris, SF Los Angeles Clippers

Many were unsure how much of a role Marcus Morris would have in LA this season with the return of a healthy Paul George and Kawhi Leonard to the lineup. Morris has been a solid fantasy player over the last few seasons and has continued that so far this season.

With Leonard still working his way back to full health after a major injury, Morris’s role for the Clippers looks to be safe for the foreseeable future. However, Leonard’s health will be something that will be monitored all season long for LA.

Morris has shown that he is worth a roster spot in fantasy basketball, as he is averaging 15 points and nearly six rebounds per game in roughly 31 minutes a night which is good for 14.9 fantasy points per game.
