Before Dame’s repeat victory, the last individual who achieved the mark of two consecutive three-point contest victories was Jason Kapono in 2007 and 2008, per an article by The Sporting News.

The victory was punctuated by the method in which Dame claimed the title. In the first round of action, with three players tied at 26 points, Lillard was down to his last money ball, sitting at a corner three-pointer with 24 points and under five second remaining. Lillard nails the three, advancing to the tiebreaker round. After passing the tiebreaker round, Lillard was set to play in the final round of the contest against fellow stars Trae Young and Karl-Anthony Towns.

In the final round of the contest, Towns and Young went for 24 points each, yet again putting pressure on Lillard.

And once again, Lillard delivered.

With the last ball of the contest, a money ball in the corner, Lillard, with 24 points, knocked down yet another three-pointer, claiming the title with little over three seconds remaining on the shot clock.
