The Boston Celtics are having a season to remember this year as they are 8.5 games ahead of any other team in the Eastern Conference. They had one of their best games of the year yesterday on Jayson Tatum’s 26th birthday, crushing the Warriors 140-88. This was their 11th straight win and was their third largest victory margin in franchise history. During this 11 game winning streak, they are beating teams by an average of 22.1 points, which is the best point differential over a win streak of at least 10 games in a single season in NBA history, according to Elias Sports Bureau research. At halftime of this game, the Boston lead was sitting at 44 points, which is now Boston’s largest halftime lead in franchise history.

Some more history that came as a result of this game is that Boston has become the first team in NBA history to win three games by a margin of 50+ points in the same season. This Celtics team seems to be breaking all kinds of records this season and have found themselves at the top of most power rankings throughout the year. Jayson Tatum was also just announced the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for February, for the second time this season, and Jaylen Brown was just announced Eastern Conference Player of the Week. This team is really coming together and proving the moves they made in the offseason were worth it. Ultimately they still have their eyes set on winning the Finals this season, as setting regular season records is nice, but it’s all for nothing if they don’t bring home the most important hardware.
