Bronny James: The Legacy Continues

Bronny James is already on the path to following in his father's footsteps from his on-court game to his business side. LeBron James is not only known as one of the best basketball players of all time, but he has become one of the most marketable athletes of all time. Now that Bronny is 18 years old, many people are asking how he compares to his father. Today we will look at Bronny's current endorsement deals and how they stack up against his fathers at this age.

PSD Underwear

On record, James' first NIL deal was with a well-known underwear brand, PSD, which he signed when he was 17. While the financial details were not fully disclosed in this deal, we can assume it was a decent amount.

During his signing with PSD, James had this to say about the company: "I've been wearing PSD for as long as I can remember," James said in a news release. "When the connection is real and authentic, it makes a partnership like this really exciting. I'm looking forward to sharing my ideas and input to create some pretty unique pieces.".

Just by this response alone, we can see James is very well-spoken and marketable, just like his father. But, thanks to the NIL rules, Bronny can start his endorsement journey at a younger age than his father.

Faze Clan

It's no secret that James is a natural athlete, but one of James' other skills helped him secure another major payday off the court. James has made it known in his free time that he's an avid gamer, specifically with his skills in Call of Duty and Fortnite. This eventually got the attention of the biggest gaming organization, FaZe Clan, who signed James to the team during his sophomore year of high school, adding to James' already impressive portfolio.

NIKE

I feel like this one was only a matter of time because when your father is LeBron James, who is arguably the face of Nike, it's only right that you follow in his footsteps. A few days ago, it was announced that Bronny and a select few young athletes signed a NIL deal with Nike.

I think this was a great move by Nike to sign a legacy athlete to the brand. The move not only makes them a lot of money but it builds on the already-established relationship with the James family. LeBron recently mentioned that his sons Bryce and Bronny had a part in designing the LeBron 20 signature shoe, arguably the most versatile in his collection. So as a creator and athlete, Bronny will fit well with the Nike team for years to come.

Bronny James currently has the highest NIL valuation, at around $7.3 million, before the Nike deal announcement. While I believe his father was the better athlete at this age, by the time Bronny graduates high school, he might have him beat in brand endorsements pre-NBA draft. However, while it's fun to compare, we can't ignore the fact that Bronny is paving his own path and striving to continue the James Legacy on and off the court.
