Minneapolis, Minnesota (PSF) — Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards was handed a $50,000 fine by the NBA for striking two fans with a chair after the team’s season-ending loss to the Denver Nuggets on April 25.

NBA executive vice president Joe Dumars described the incident in a press release as “recklessly swinging a chair in frustration that struck two bystanders.”

Edwards, 22, signed a rookie max extension for $260 million in July and is the centerpiece of the Timberwolves’ future. The 2023 All-Star is currently playing with Team USA and aims to play in the FIBA World Cup.
