An All-Time Robbery!

Robbed of greatness

Kyrie Irving and his fans around the world are being robbed of experiencing his prime. Yesterday the basketball fan all around the world would once again witness yet ANOTHER historic performance from Kyrie Andrew Irving. Due to the mandate that resides in New York Irving has only played 19 games so far this season. Out of these 19 games Irving has had 7 games where he has scored 30 or more points. Only allowed to away games Irving has been tagged a part-time player. Regardless of being a part-time player, the drama in the media, and any other outside noise, Irving has been no short of amazing.

A Dream Come true

When Kyrie was two years old, he and his family would move to West Orange New Jersey. He fell in love with basketball at a young age mostly due to his father and godfather being professional basketball players he would desire to follow in their footsteps. In 4th grade, he wrote on his wall that he was going to make it to the NBA. Growing up in Jersey, Kyrie would become a huge New Jersey Nets fan. On many occasions, Irving has spoken on multiple occasions about the experiences he holds dear of being a young kid part of the Nets fandom and what that meant to him as a child

I wanted to be like J Kidd growing up…
— Kyrie Irving

Irving stated illuminating his love for the Nets. Irving would correlate the feelings of being a young Nets fan to being a part of the Nets Organization and paying homage to the players who he would adore as a child.

To be etched with those names in Nets history now is…. not even so much of playing just being a part of the organization knowing that I was once a fan and now I became part of it…I’m grateful to be able to do it and I’m honored to be able to do it
— Kyrie Irving

Kyrie’s humbleness and excitement for joining the Nets Organization would resonate well as Kyrie’s legacy would be cemented in Nets History books forever.

Two games ago in Charlotte Irving would go on a tear having a historical night scoring 50 points in 19 shots leaving fans in awe of his performance. He would become the third player in NBA history to score 50 points fewer than 20 shots. He also becomes the only guard in NBA history to score multiple 50-point games shooting 75%. Just when fans thought it could not get any better Irving would once again do the unthinkable.

Last Night against the Orlando Magic Kyrie Irving put on a CLINIC. Irving would end the first half with 41 points in spectacular Kyrie fashion leaving multiple defenders helpless. Kyrie had his way with the Magic’s defense, getting to his spots and knocking down breath-taking shots or leaving the defender imponent with his dazzling crossover, it was poetry in motion. Kyrie would join Elite company where he would score the 2nd most points in the last 25 years, with the one and only Kobe Bryant, Kyrie’s late mentor being the only person ahead of him was an inkling on how surreal the moment was.

Kyrie would finish the game with 60 points in only 35 minutes of play on 65%FG and 66%3FG. Another historic night for Kyrie who would not only break his own personal record in points (57) but would set a franchise record for points a game a record previously held by Deron Willams (57). From being a kid from Jersey who grew up admiring the Nets players and Organization this moment must have been heartwarming for Irving and his supporters, but the job is not finished.

The motivation for me is that I am going to make sure that when the Nets get back to the Finals, I am going to be apart of this team and we’re going to be winning this
— Kyrie Irving

WHAT’S NEXT

With Irving still listed as a part-time player Nets and their supporters are still in high hopes that they will end the season out on a high note and eventually become a full-time player before or during the playoffs.

With a little over 10 games left of the season, the Brooklyn Nets are determined on ending the season out strong. Currently, on a 4-game win streak, the Nets are confident that they have found their groove, and once they are moving no team in the league can stop them. With the Mavericks game, tonight at the Barclays Kyrie will most likely be supporting his team from his courtside view unable to participate.

Will the Nets extend their win streak to 5 or will they fall short to Luka Doncic and the red-hot Mavericks? Find out tonight @6:30Est!
