76ers are out on Bradley Beal
PHILADELPHIA - As questions and rumors surround what the Philadelphia 76ers plan to do this offseason, one thing made clear today is Washington Wizards star point guard Bradley Beal will not be joining the Philadelphia 76ers for this upcoming season. John Clark of NBC affiliate Channel 10 reported via his Twitter page this morning that the Philadelphia 76ers are out on a possible trade for Beal.
The cost for the services of Beal would be high and the 76ers would have to give up third-year guard Tyrese Maxey. That is primarily why the 76ers are out on Beal. Reportedly, the 76ers believe that Maxey has “all-star potential,” and the 76ers are not willing to part ways with Maxey because they believe that he has that kind of upside.
However, there are still questions lingering about what the 76ers will do at the point guard position. Will they retain James Harden, who is set to enter free agency, amid the swirling rumors about him possibly returning to Houston? Or will Philadelphia be the next landing spot for the Toronto Raptors guard Fred Vanvleet, who is set to become a free agent? Vanvleet played under Nick Nurse during his time as the Raptors' head coach. Or will a reunion be in store for former Brooklyn Nets guard Seth Curry in Philadelphia? All of these questions are what Daryl Morey has going through his mind heading into a summer that will either bring hope or despair amongst the 76ers faithful.
