2024-25 NBA Season Predictions

            With the new NBA season approaching, many things can happen, including injuries, a team coming out of nowhere, rookies or bench players breaking out, or a star-filled team failing. When it comes to the new season predictions come in from every way and everyone. These predictions will be based on the team’s overall records, breakout players, and stats.

            To start at the Eastern Conference with the top dog Boston Celtics, it may not be a huge prediction, but they will repeat as champions. The East is not very weak anymore, especially after this offseason but to believe with the addition of Jrue Holiday, Derrick White's breakout, and the star-studded players with the team kept in tac there’s no reason to think they won’t. They dominated the regular season and swept through the playoffs. Next would be the Milwaukee Bucks, with the addition of Dame and the duo of Giannis they seem unstoppable and one of the things holding them back was the coach and injuries. But you can believe Giannis and Dame, if healthy, could go through the East, meet the Celtics, give them a tough time, and get through them. The Cavaliers are another team that can come into contention with role players everywhere alongside Mitchell. Mobley is looking to finally break out and become a key player for the Cavs and could be in contention for DPOY this year as the Cavs go on a roll into deep playoff competition.

Now over to the Western Conference and to start with the Golden State Warriors even with the loss of legend Klay Thompson; Curry and this squad of Buddy Hield, Kuminga, and Draymond as they did in 2022 you could see them deep into the playoffs, and maybe championship bound. Next, I think the Minnesota Timberwolves with how they’ve looked with Anthony Edwards and the rest of the squad that next season is their year. They will go even further next year and could compete against the Celtics in the finals. Teams that I believe will make a jump are the San Antonio Spurs and the Memphis Grizzles. The Spurs added CP3 along with the development of Wembanyama, which could carry the team to just around the play in line which is a huge jump from the last few seasons of the Spurs. Next would be the Grizzles getting Ja Morant back I can see them jumping to a play-in spot and will not be short with Ja and Jackson Jr.

            Teams that are going to drop are teams such as the Clippers due to the loss of George and Kawhi being injury-prone. Along with not having the best bench and supporting squad and loss of picks over the years. Another team I believe will drop out of contention is the Orlando Magic with Paolo breaking out and a few other role players turning up I don’t believe it will all come together again this season.

For the season award, I believe Evan Mobley will win DPOY, Luka will win MVP, and Alex Sarr will win ROY.
