Charles Leclerc: 1000 F1 Points

Charles Leclerc is one of the best young stars in all of F1. Racing for his dream team in Scuderia Ferrari. Though he is on the most historical racing team in the history of motorsport, it has not come without hardship as Ferrari have yet to win a Constructors or Drivers Championship since 2007 with the great Kimi Raikkonen claiming the World Championship.

Charles started his F1 career in 2019 with Sauber, a team affiliated on the grid with Ferrari. He then went on to start his Ferrari career the next season, having attained over 5 wins and 20 podiums over those years. Charles is one of the most exciting talents on the grid. His calmness, adaptability and race craft is what makes him such a special talent. Charles' closest taste at a World Drivers Championship was in 2022, in which the team as well as Charles finished 2nd behind eventual 3 time WDC, Max Verstappen.

Charles is under contract until the end of the 2024 season, in which he has the option to talk to other F1 teams about an open spot for the 2025 season. Though that is a possibility with Ferrari not getting to where they expect to be, the top, Charles will have some decisions to make. Nonetheless, Charles is focused on his favorite team Ferrari, in which he just picked up his 1000th career F1 points at the Japanese Grand Prix this past weekend, finishing just outside the podium at P4.

Whether or not Charles returns to glory of race wins like last season, it is safe to say Ferrari have a young star on their hands and need to secure him a contract for the foreseeable future. Though they have not performed to their standards, as the wise 4x World Champion and former teammate of Charles, Sebastian Vettel stated, β€œEven if you are not a Ferrari fan, we are all Ferrari fans.”

Lights out for Qatar and FP1 start October 6th at 6:30AM E.T.
