What Is Next For The Main Card of UFC FN: Walker vs Hill

In what looked to be an underwhelming card based on the lack of names and promising but oh boy we were wrong. Further establishing that should never a judge a card until the fights occur. Here are future matchups for the main card of UFC Fight Night: Walker vs Hill.

(MW) Joaquin Buckley vs (MW) Abdul Razak Alhassan

In a potential fight of night, Buckley vs Alhassan delivered with Joaquin winning a nail-biting split decision over Abdul and even though this fight did not end in a finish as some may have expected the power and technique of both athletes was pure class.

What is next?

Joaquin Barkley: With a win over Alhassan, Joaquin Buckley’s next fight could be against Julian Marquez, Phil Hawes, or Nick Maximov.

Abdul Razak Alhassan: Although losing by split decision, Abdul is still a knock artist and great fight but for his future, matchups against Roman Dolidze or the winner of Rodrigues/Petrosyan would be justifiable.

(LW) Jim Miller vs (LW) nIKOLAS mOTTA

Continuing his career resurgence, Jim Miller has now finished both of his opponents extending the his win streak to two and tying Donald Cerrone for the most wins in UFC history (23).

What is next?

Jim Miller: Although Miller has been up & down in his career, these last two wins have been impressive because of Miller not being known to have knockout power. Matchups for Jim to continue his success would have to be against Jared Gordon, Nasrat Haqparast, or the winner of McKinney/Ziam.

Nikolas Motta: Although Motta lost his UFC debut, it may be tough for him to have a career in the UFC considering this was his chance to make a name for himself but with this comes opportunity so his next matchup would be against a prospect, Luigi Vendramini, or Uros Medic.

(HW) Parker Porter vs (HW) Alan Baudot

After gathering an easy three-round unanimous decision, Parker Porter has tied his best winning streak. Looking not only in the prime of his career but dominant overall.

What is next?

Parker Porter: Matchups for this emerging heavyweight include Jake Collier, Justin Tafa, or the winner of Nacsimento/Boser.

Alan Baudot: After a decent performance, future matchups for Baudot include Josh Parisian or Chase Sherman.

(MW) Kyle Daukaus vs (MW) Jamie Pickett

Coming on short notice both Kyle Daukaus and Jamie Pickett came in prepared for 195 catchweight bout but come fight day Daukaus showed his dominance on ground landed a near buzzer beater submission win.

What is next?

Kyle Daukaus: Coming off an impressive performance, Daukaus next matchup could be against Marc-Andre Barriault, Jun Yong Park, or Rodolfo Vieira.

Jamie Pickett: Although Pickett was submitted, he did come on short notice rather on a full camp so that being said his next matchup could be against Bryan Battle, Dusko Todorovic, or Andre Petroski.

(#12 LHW) jAmahal Hill vs (#10 LHW) Johnny Walker

Entering this main event both athletes were known to be talented strikers so once the fight commenced it became a question of who would land their first heavy shot. In this case, that would Jamahal “Sweet Dreams” Hill landing an overhand right and ground shot to end Walker's night.

What is next?

Jamahal Hill: With this one Hill has established himself to be a future contender in the light heavyweight division. Meaning now he is going to go up against the best in the division in the winner of Craig/Krylov, Volkan Oezdemir, or Dominick Reyes.

Johnny Walker: Having this be his second training camp under SBG Ireland, you can say Walker is going through an adjustment period however when you have flat performance against Thiago Santos and KO loss versus Hill. Then there must be cause for concern. However for now his future opponents could be Jimmy Crute, the winner or loser of Oleksiejczuk/Jacoby, or Ion Cutelaba.
