The Triple Threader - Apr. 3, 2023

Welcome to the Triple Threader, where we cover three stories from the world of pro wrestling. We’re covering WrestleMania on all three subjects.

Best Friends Best the Bloodline

In a story fitting of Tinseltown, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are the ones to finally defeat “The Ones,” putting down the longest reigning titleholders The Usos to become WWE’s Undisputed Tag Team Champions. This marks the new champs’ first ever time holding tag team gold. They weren’t the only new champs on the block as Rhea Ripley became the new SmackDown women’s champion.

Malice n WrestleMania

This year’s Show of Shows had a few amusing moments, but one from recording artist Snoop Dogg made the biggest impression. Both he and the Miz were hosts when the “Doggfather” made an impromptu match between the latter and Shane McMahon. McMahon wound up getting injured, leaving Snoop to take care of the Miz himself, pinning him for the 3-count. Check out his own take of the “People’s Elbow” below.

Dreams and Nightmares

The main event of WrestleMania Sunday between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship had many twists, turns, interferences, and paybacks. It was a Hollywood story fitting of this year’s theme for the Grandest Stage of Them All. Unlike this past Saturday night’s main event, however, this chapter did not have the Hollywood ending everyone expected as the Tribal Chief speared the American Nightmare, and three seconds later, Roman’s Reign continues.
