UFC: When Will Francis Ngannou Fight Again?

Francis “The Predator” Ngannou is one of the biggest stars in the UFC and undoubtedly the hardest hitting heavyweight of all time. However, there’s still plenty of mystery surrounding the future of his career.

Francis’ last fought in January of 2022 at UFC 270 resulted in him getting a UD win over interim champion Ciryl Gane. Ngannou hasn’t lost in over four years and is without a doubt the most feared fighter on the planet.

After having ACL and MCL surgery in March, Ngannou has yet to resume fight training and there’s speculation he won’t fight again until the beginning of 2023, at the very least. The other factor at play here is that this next fight will be his last fight on his current UFC contract, and the UFC has yet to reach out to him with an offer, according to Ngannou.

So where does all of that leave us? Ngannou, now 36, is no spring chicken. He’s a seven year veteran in the UFC and has very little left to achieve. On his part, Ngannou would love to get a couple of matches in before he calls it a career, and has repeatedly suggested he does not know whether his next fight will be boxing or MMA.

So, at the end of the day, we can assume only one thing: Ngannou will defend his belt again in early 2023. Who his opponent will be, though, is still unknown. After that, we might not see him in the UFC again.
