Ufc 285 prelims

LAS VEGAS, NV (PSF) - UFC 285 might just be the most anticipated card in UFC history with the return of Jon Jones and the debut of the most hyped up prospect since Conor McGregor in Bo Nickal, but what if I told you that the best fight on the card is on the prelims.

The prelims feature big names like former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt, rising superstar Ian Garry, and top middleweights Derek Brunson and Dricus Du Plessis. These fighters are not used to opening up a card, which shows how stacked this card really is.

Cody “No Love” Garbrandt looks to get back into the win column on a two fight losing skid as he faces Trevin Jones, who is also on a losing streak. Garbrandt has changed camps for this fight and said he has never felt better. If he can get back to his 2016 form, he will put all bantamweights on notice on his climb to the top. Look for a decisive win from Cody here, as Jones does not like to engage in the stand up.

Dricus Du Plessis vs Derek Brunson has Fight of the Night written all over it. Both fighters seem to be one or two fights away from a title shot. In an interview on Wednesday, Du Plessis expressed his anger with the UFC, as he believes that he has done more than enough to be a main card fighter, being undefeated in the UFC with multiple bonuses for his must watch fights. Brunson is 5-1 in his last six fights and is poised to be the fighter to defeat Du Plessis. He has the experience factor, facing Israel Adesanya, Anderson Silva and Robert Whittaker in his career, all former middleweight champions. This fight deserves to be on the main card, and they will prove it on Saturday.
