The Triple H era continues as Wargames will occur at a WWE-branded event for the first time ever. The match stipulation created by Dusty Rhodes in 1987 includes a cage surrounding two traditional rings with two teams duking it out. The team who pins or submits every member of the opposing team wins.

In an exclusive interview with The Ringer, Triple H revealed there would be two War-games matches, one for the men and one for the women. Triple H explained Smackdown vs. Raw would not be focused on these matches, with the matches being storyline driven.

The final ‘big four’ PPV of 2022 will go out with a bang as Triple H looks to revitalize the Survivor Series event. Over the past few years, disgruntled fans and critics pointed out the lack of identity, with many becoming disinterested. Many in the wrestling community felt that the reason to care about the battle for brand supremacy was lost. An event synonymous with showcasing the best of the best from each brand, putting on classic elimination matches.

Survivor Series 2019 is the last time wrestling fans saw Triple H at Survivor Series, spearheading NXT into becoming the third brand for the battle of brand supremacy. For the first time, NXT battled it out with the best of Smackdown and Raw, with NXT coming out on top, sending a message to fans. NXT proved it was better with the big brands of Smackdown and Raw.

Now, a different approach to the Survivor Series brand will be experimented with to give fans something to cheer about. Innovation has been calling Survivor Series for years now, with Triple H being the one to pick up. This is the second time Triple H brought the match back into the wrestling world, with the first appearing in NXT in November of 2017.

There is a strong appreciation for the WarGames match structure from Triple H, who stated, “I still look at it as a traditional component to Survivor Series in there because it’s large teams of people competing. We just upped the ante a little bit with WarGames and made it evolve.”

Survivor Series will take place on November 26 in Boston, Massachusetts, at 8 P.M. EST live on Peacock in the U.S. and on WWE Network elsewhere.
