Clear your schedule, wrestling fans. This weekend shall be memorable.
Labor Day weekend continues to be one of the best wrestling weekends of the year. The first week of September starts off with a bang as WWE will hold a premium live event in the U.K. for the first time since 2003. The Clash at the Castle main event will be Roman Reigns putting his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the line against Drew McIntyre with a rocking Welsh crowd. The event will take place at 10 A.M. PST/1 P.M. EST on Peacock in the United States and on the WWE Network elsewhere.
Reigns has been Universal Champion for two calendar years, winning the title at Payback in 2020. Since then, Reigns has never looked back, delivering his best character work yet honing into his tribal chief persona. If home-field advantage were a thing in wrestling, it’d be more apparent than ever for Drew McIntyre.
Through a connecting flight, McIntyre will be four hours away from his hometown of Ayr, Scotland, as he laces his boots for the biggest match of his life. McIntyre proved he could be a great champion during his 202-day reign as WWE Championship in 2020. One of the top stars during the pandemic era in WWE, McIntyre is the complete package with solid promo skills, great in-ring ability, and a top-tier physique. All of these elements create the recipe for a big match feel which will be great to see.
The following day will see NXT Worlds Collide, which will be unifying the NXT 2.0 and NXT U.K. titles. Additionally, the NXT U.K. Tag-Team championship, Women’s championship, and NXT 2.0 and U.K. championship will be unified amidst the news of NXT Europe launching in 2023.
Bron Breakker and Tyler Bate headline the event, along with another highly anticipated match between Richochet and Carmelo Hayes for the North American Championship. This is the third Worlds Collide since its inauguration in 2019. Sunday is the first Worlds Collide since 2020, giving wrestlers something to prove for its two-and-a-half-year hiatus.

As if those two shows weren’t enough, the biggest PPV on AEW’s calendar will take place hours later after Worlds Collide. The fourth annual All Out will emanate from Hoffman Estes, Illinois, looking to give fans another great All Out show.
All Out has set the standard of what a pay-per-view should look like in the modern world of wrestling, becoming the flagship event for All Elite Wrestling. This year hopes to continue the tradition with another promising match card. The past few months have been hectic for AEW, with the locker room reaching a breaking point. From reports of Adam Page and CM Punk having real heat leading Punk to go off script, along with Sammy Guevara and Eddie Kingston reportedly getting into a physical altercation backstage during an episode of Dynamite.
Moreover, the AEW roster is looking to move past this, focusing on the biggest event of the year. A match card headlined by CM Punk and Jon Moxley for the AEW World Title. Other notable matches will see a fatal four-way for the AEW Women’s championship, the Trios Championship final between the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega vs. The Best Friends and Orange Cassidy, and the Casino Ladder matchmaking its return.
Rumors continue to swirl about MJF’s long-awaited appearance on AEW television. It has been three months since MJF dropped the promo of the year, calling out Tony Khan on AEW Dynamite.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer commented on who he believes will be the Joker in the Casino Ladder Match… “MJF certainly makes as much sense as anyone. I knew MJF’s coming back soon, but I don’t know if it’s gonna be this week. He’s definitely in the running if you’re gonna put odds on something, so he’ll be the likely guy.”
All Out will air live at 8 P.M. EST on pay-per-view through Bleacher Report in the U.S. and FITE TV elsewhere. This weekend will be a treat for fans worldwide, reminding us why we love wrestling.
