I see Backlash, I see france

Before the Olympics take place this summer, fired-up French fans got a chance to take in the action of this year’s WWE Backlash. The premium live event saw Cody Rhodes take down AJ Styles, and Bayley turn away Naomi and Tiffany Stratton, both retaining their respective WWE Undisputed and Women’s Championship. The women’s tag team crowns changed hands as Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill defeated Asuka and Kairi Sane. Despite Jey Uso’s rousing ovation in the city of Lyon, Damien Priest quelled those cheers and put down the former tag champion, keeping the World Heavyweight Title in the process.

What Happens in mania…

During the Kentucky Derby, WWE announced that WrestleMania 41 will come to Las Vegas on April 19 and 20, 2025 at Allegiant Stadium. The last time the company held the Show of Shows was in 1993, where the 9th edition of the big event was held at the now-demolished outdoor arena in Caesars Palace.

Going Global

David Finlay has captured the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship for a second time after defeating Nic Nemeth at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Dontaku event. Nemeth held the belt for 71 days after beating inaugural titleholder Finlay at New Beginning earlier this past February. After the match, the son of wrestling legend Fit Finlay stated, “I will die in this top spot because that is how I do things.”
