The Triple Threader - May 1, 2023

Welcome to the Triple Threader, covering three stories from the world of pro wrestling. (WARNING: may contain spoilers.)

Draft-Way there

This yearโ€™s WWE Draft shook up the roster once more. Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns was among the top four picks that got drafted, while stunning NXT call ups were revealed as Zoey Stark and NXT Womenโ€™s Champion Indi Hartwell were drafted to RAW, and NXT Womenโ€™s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn to SmackDown. The final phases of the draft will continue tonight on RAW.

New World Champ

Last Monday on RAW, Triple H would see to it that there would be a full time working top man in the WWE as he revealed the new World Heavyweight Championship, a continuation of the famed title that The Game himself once held 21 years ago. A new World Champion will be crowned at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on May 27. The original World Title lasted from 2002 to 2013.

Sheโ€™s Back!

The long awaited return of the wrestler formerly known as Naomi is on the horizon. Trinity recently made her debut in Chicagoโ€™s Impact Wrestling tapings this past weekend. According to social media posts from fans who attended the shows, the former WWE Womenโ€™s Champion spoke about coming back to the ring on one show, while she made her competitive return to the squared circle against KiLynn King on another. The Impact episodes are set to air this week and next week on AXS TV.
