Welcome to the Triple Threader, covering three select stories from the world of professional wrestling.

Dreams and Nightmares

The American Nightmare had a busy week on Raw and SmackDown. Last Monday, Cody Rhodes responded to The Rock’s “Rock Concert” in verbally violent fashion, then this past Friday, went for a one-on-one conversation with Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Suddenly, the one-on-one looked to become three-on-one with the presence of Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso, until two more allies in the forms of Jey Uso and World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin’” Rollins came to back up Cody. Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins battle Roman Reigns and The Rock at night one of WrestleMania 40, which will determine the stipulation of Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes for the WWE crown on the following night.

Everything Has Come to Life

On last Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite in front of a packed, sold-out Toronto crowd, their own Adam Copeland takes the TNT Championship from fellow Torontonian and former tag partner Christian Cage. This is the Rated R Superstar’s 37th overall championship and second title reign in AEW. The show also saw a new AEW Continental Champion crowned as The Rainmaker Kazuchika Okada turned away Eddie Kingston. The Six got one more hour of AEW action in Rampage, as on that program, Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale battled Skye Blue and TBS Champion Julia Hart in a street fight.
