The Triple Threader - Aug. 15, 2022
Welcome to the Triple Threader, where we cover the three highlighting stories in the world of professional wrestling. Here’s today’s thread.
Click, Clack, The Punk is Back
The crowd was chaotic after a successful AEW Interim World Championship defense by Jon Moxley and subsequent chaos with opponent Chris Jericho and his Jericho Appreciation Society. However, that chaos was tame compared to the atmosphere when Living Colour hit and the main titleholder CM Punk returned to the ring and cleared the way, eventually setting a clash between him and Mox, possibly for the All Out pay-per-view. Prior to the appearance, Punk was out with a foot injury that sidelined him for over two months.
Hit Row Returns. Now You Know
This past Friday’s SmackDown saw the return of NXT standouts Hit Row (Ashante Thee Adonis, B-Fab, and Top Dolla) as they picked up a win and cut a promo on their comeback. This return picks up on another one from this past RAW when Dexter Lumis made his own comeback, albeit subdued on TV.
Who’s Next on The Game’s Return list?
With the wave and push of former NXT stars on Triple H’s agenda, many fans speculate on who is next to make a comeback. Some fans believe that Johnny Gargano could return to WWE on the main roster, while others think Andrade El Idolo and Miro could jump ship from AEW after their recent Twitter interactions. In addition, the Cerebral Assassin reportedly won’t let up on his big return hit list, so we shall see what happens next.
