Get Well Soon, Mami

After 380 days of eradicating contenders, Rhea Ripley has been forced to vacate the WWE Women’s World Championship. The decision came last week on Raw following an attack by Liv Morgan the week before. Ripley sustained an injured shoulder as a result. A new Women’s World Champion is set to be crowned this week on the red brand.

Whose House?

On AEW Dynasty, in front of a packed St. Louis crowd, Swerve Strickland became the first African American AEW World Champion by putting away Samoa Joe. This is Strickland’s first major title in his career, and he wasn’t the only one to win gold that night. ROH Six-Man Champs Bullet Club Gold (Jay White, Austin & Colten Gunn) defeated The Acclaimed (Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, and Billy Gunn) to become the unified AEW World Trios Champions. The Young Bucks became 3-time Tag Team Champions against FTR in a ladder match (with some help from Jack Perry), Chris Jericho turned away Hook for the FTW Title, and Willow Nightingale became the new queen of the SuperStation, beating Julia Hart for the TBS crown.
